Team Bernie Tries to Ply Me with Gifts
Wow! I’m away from my keyboard for a few days and look what I come back to! Offers to send me bumper stickers! T-shirts! A tote bag!!!
I have to say, I’m flattered that you’re all so eager to keep up our communication – but I should make clear that I was only away because I had some important family stuff to attend to. My absence was not in the least a sign of waning interest in our ongoing conversation. In fact, I’m a little embarrassed that you reacted this way. Yes, we have developed a certain rapport, but I think the offer of gifts was a bit excessive.
Still, in the spirit of reciprocation, I’d like to offer you all some bumper stickers to choose from – sorry, I’m fresh out of tote bags. These are some of my favorites:
First, from Scott Horton’s collection over at LibertyStickers – and if you don’t know Scott Horton, you should. He’s one of the only genuine anti-war activists around. Bernie may not care about things like a consistent anti-war stance, but you guys seem like you might. You can check out Scott’s show here or here.
Scott’s not the only one making stickers at LibertyStickers. There are more:
OK, I lied. I do have some tote bags. Also t-shirts. Take a look at these, from LiberyManiacs:
I think this one makes an especially nice throw blanket!
Finally – maybe after this whole election thing is over I could interest you in one of these?
So just tell me which ones you’d like – I’m happy to send up to ten bumper stickers or a couple of t-shirts – maybe a tote bag if you really want one, but not the throw blanket, sorry – let me know where to send them, and they’ll be on their way. At the risk of offending, I’ll decline your offer for the varied Bernie paraphernalia. As you may recall, I am NOT a supporter – don’t feel bad, I know it can be hard to keep track of these things.
